Job overview Essential Duties and Responsibilities Laboratory Sample Receiving and Client Support Efficiently and accurately receive, sort, and login samples for testing on a timely basis with planned distribution of samples to appropriate testing areas. Contact clients about test request formsample discrepancies. Use electronic tracking programs for laboratory samples and assist other laboratory staff with the use of those programs. Generate and review laboratory testing datasheets. Generate and review shipping forms for return samples, Biological Indicator and supply purchases. Communicate to area CoordinatorLead regarding any issuespotential issues with sample management, client satisfaction, and staff support. Professionally and courteously interface with clients and couriers at the Laboratory Sample Receiving Door. Interface with clients regarding a variety of topics, such as clarification of testing instructions, and acquiringconfirming missing or discrepant details from the TRF. Communicate with clients regarding anticipated release times for laboratory test results and other administrative issues. Follow up with clients as requested by area CoordinatorLead. Provide details to clients on test services, including standard test pricing. Laboratory Administration Accurately generate, send, file and mail final reports, and other laboratory documents. Review and edit datasheetsfinal reports for spelling and data transfer accuracy. Communicate with report reviewers, and Area CoordinatorLead, to ensure that client expectations are achieved. Interface with accounting department to assure billing info for laboratory testing is accurate and complete, and to check the status of credit holds before release of test results. Maintain data report filing system, including filing reports and other laboratory documents, adding new folders, reconciling files at the year end, and assisting Biotest staff with locating documents. Generate, update, and maintain fax cover sheets, email lists, and mailing labels for laboratory clients. Laboratory Testing Support Provide back-up support for performing self-contained Biological Indicator sterility testing. Verify results of timed laboratory tests prior to release of results to the clients. Dispose of test materials appropriately. Quality Support Understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures. Make recommendations and support review of DCOs and process improvement plans. Miscellaneous Laboratory Support Other duties as assigned. Understand and follow all safety qualifications. Process Biological Indicator sales to clients, providing product pull, shipment, and transfer to Steris. Efficiently prepare challenge packs, and other Biological Indicator supply packs, according to Biotest and client specifications. Package environmental monitoring plates for shipment to clients. Monitor in-stock Biological Indicators and make recommendations for ordering BIs and other Laboratory supplies. Maintain Laboratory copierprinter to include request for service or repair. Support development and implementation of LIMS.h the expertise to accurately identify and distinguish colors. Corrected vision to 2020. Min intermediate expertise with Microsoft word and Ms excel. Proven high-level of accuracy and attention to detail. Expertise to read and comprehend English. Expertise to understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures.
